Job summary

Chelan PUD is seeking Journeyman Operators for both its Rocky Reach Dam and Rock Island Dam locations. This is not a remote or hybrid position, but requires regular, in-person attendance in Wenatchee, WA. Relocation reimbursement is available.

The Journeyman Operator works a regular scheduled shift and is qualified to perform any operation of the District's generation equipment and facilities. They test, troubleshoot, inspect and assist plant maintenance as directed by the Chief Operator or

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized operator apprentice program (journeyman status) or equivalent cross craft operator-in-training experience is required.
• 3+ years of documented, relevant power plant operator experience (journeyman status) is required.
• Valid Driver's License at hire and WA Driver's License within 30 days of hire.
• CPR – Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation with Valid First Aid Card within 90 days.
• No post-secondary education is required.

Responsibilities

• Control Room: Perform switching and control functions for water releases, electrical production, voltage regulation, station service, and auxiliary equipment.
• Inspections: Regular inspections of generators, turbines, transformers, switchgear, spillways, switchyards and outbuildings.
• Switching/configuration: Receive high voltage switching orders and perform switching in switchyards and substations.
• Communication: Keep informed of plant operation and mechanical conditions and coordinate with team members.
