Job summary

Douglas PUD in Wells Dam seeks a Journeyman Power Plant Operator to work as a roving operator under the direction of the chief and senior operators. Shifts may vary to meet schedule, with preference for candidates within 30 miles of Wells Dam.

This safety-sensitive role is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and carries a one-year probation. The incumbent will be hired at an hourly rate of $61.06, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Three-year apprenticeship as Power Plant Operator OR five years experience as Power Plant Operator OR equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Start, stop, synchronize and control generation units.
• Inspect power plant and embankments.
• Inspect and control auxiliary equipment and power plant equipment.
• Regulate spillway gates and fish facility equipment.
• Switch high-voltage equipment.
• Follow safety rules and LO/TO procedures; participate in safety programs.
