Job summary

Fort Worth ISD seeks a skilled HVAC Technician to inspect, repair, and install heating and cooling systems across district facilities, ensuring safe operation and compliance with codes.

You will diagnose VRF and boiler systems, fabricate ducts, balance air and water systems, maintain preventive schedules, and assist energy efficiency efforts. After-hours calls and travel to district sites may be required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; associates in HVAC preferred.
• Texas driver license required; insurable by the district.
• EPA Universal refrigerant certification required.
• 5–7 years HVAC experience required; 7 years if no HVAC certificate or 5 years with certificate.
• HVAC certificate from an accredited trade school or college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs various HVAC systems including VRF, chillers, boilers.
• Installs and relocates HVAC systems; fabricates ducts and piping per code.
• Performs air and water balance tests on new/remodeled facilities.
• Coordinates repairs with maintenance personnel as needed.
• Operates district vehicles; handles heavy equipment.
• Maintains preventive maintenance schedules and records for HVAC equipment.
• Responds to emergency calls, including after-hours/weekends.
• Inspects jobs upon completion and ensures areas are clean.
