Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions is seeking an HVAC Technician at Moffett Field, CA. The role covers installation, maintenance, operation and repair of air handling units, chillers, boilers, VAVs, VRVs, fume hoods, pumps and motors under general supervision.

You will diagnose problems, coordinate with leads, order materials, and ensure OSHA and environmental compliance, using PPE and contributing to a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and HVAC apprenticeship completed.
• 4-year journeyman or 2-year technical experience.
• CFC and HFC certification for universal refrigerants.
• Skilled in use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to interpret codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems/equipment operation and installation.
• Strong HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Receive work orders or blueprints and schedule priorities.
• Diagnose problems and determine the method to complete the work.
• Ensure work conforms to shop standards with Lead and coworkers.
• Order materials needed for work with Lead person.
• Comply with applicable federal, state, NASA, OSHA and environmental laws.
• Wear PPE at all times as determined by position.
• Meet tight deadlines and handle high-stress situations.
• Create and maintain a positive team atmosphere.
