Aksarben Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing in Omaha, NE seeks a Journeyman Installer to perform all stages of HVAC installations in new construction, coordinate with builders and project managers, and ensure code-compliant, high-quality work. The role includes setting up systems, ductwork, piping, wiring, and startup procedures.

Qualifications

• City of Omaha Journeyman license, experience leading a crew strongly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of basic carpentry, gas piping, electricity and air flow is required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Must possess a working knowledge of local codes and general industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Reviews blueprints and marks out locations for HVAC systems in new construction; identifies air returns and chimney/bath fan locations.
• Interfaces with builders, contractors, homeowners, architects, inspectors and project managers to identify installation needs.
• Measures and determines duct sizing for proper air flow and requests the right duct/fittings; cuts ductwork as needed.
• Installs copper piping and drain lines below slab level where appropriate.
• Installs chimneys and flashing on roofs; ensures sealing to prevent water leaks.
• Cuts holes for HVAC installation; installs exhausts and return air systems across levels.
• Assembles HVAC units, coils, thermostats, and related components; tests and wires units.
• Reads layouts, installs duct/flex systems; wraps ducts and applies insulation; labels installed equipment.
• Wires main power; starts up HVAC systems in new construction and records performance data.
• Ensures installations meet safety standards and codes; provides on-the-job training to apprentices.
