Job summary

Altorfer Industries seeks a Journeyman Technician for our Component Shop in Mokena, IL. You will test, disassemble/assemble, inspect and repair heavy machinery components including transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic pumps and motors.

Strong measurement skills with micrometers, calipers and gauges are required. You will maintain records in our service management system and communicate clearly with shop leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 4+ Years of Heavy Equipment/Component Repair experience
• Engine component repair knowledge a plus
• Accredited certifications from a trade school or college

Responsibilities

• Test, disassembly/assembly, inspection and repair of heavy machinery based components including transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic pumps, valves, hydraulic cylinders and motors.
• Verify conformance of component piece parts to specifications using micrometers, calipers and go-no-go gauges.
• Disassemble components and diagnose symptoms to provide accurate customer estimates.
• Communicate troubleshooting and operational issues clearly with shop leadership.
• Maintain accurate records in the service management software.
