Job summary

Altorfer Industries is seeking a Journey Technician for our Component Shop in Mokena, IL. You will test, disassemble/assemble, inspect and repair transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic pumps and motors to a high standard.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 4+ years of heavy equipment repair. You will work a Monday–Friday schedule with overtime as needed, and enjoy industry-leading union benefits and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Verify conformance of component parts to specs using measuring tools.
• Deep understanding of component functionality to root cause failure.
• Disassemble components and diagnose symptoms for estimates.

Responsibilities

• Test, disassemble/assemble, inspect and repair heavy machinery components.
• Maintain torque specifications and accurate documentation.
• Communicate troubleshooting clearly with shop leadership.
• Keep records in service management software.
• Cross-train on transmissions dyno operations as needed.
