Qualifications

Role Description

The Journeyman Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Painesville, OH. The technician will install, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and related controls. Daily tasks include diagnosing system issues, performing routine and preventive maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordinating with supervisors and other trades to complete work orders on schedule. The role also involves reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals, documenting work performed, and communicating clearly with team members to support efficient operations. The technician is expected to follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong HVAC troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing mechanical and control system issues.
• Experience with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, such as condensate drains, piping, and fittings.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure dependable and efficient operation.
• Knowledge of electricity as it applies to HVAC systems, including wiring, motors, and controls.
• EPA certification for handling and recovering refrigerants, or ability to obtain certification within a defined timeframe.
• Journeyman-level experience in HVAC or completion of a recognized HVAC apprenticeship program.
• Familiarity with industrial or commercial environments and adherence to strict safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet any site-specific access requirements.
• HVAC certification from a technical school.
