Primoris Power Delivery in East Texas is seeking a Journeyman Field Mechanic. You will inspect, diagnose, dismantle, and repair mechanical systems on distribution and transmission equipment, using diagnostic tools and welding/fabrication as needed.

The role requires HS diploma or equivalent, 5 years mechanical experience, and knowledge of vehicle operations. The company offers competitive benefits and a strong safety program.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or 5 years mechanical experience.
• Utility and Transmission Experience needed.
• Reasoning Ability: Able to verify that equipment is safe.
• Confined Space Training certification (if applicable).
• Diagnostic equipment proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Inspects parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements and detect imperfections.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments; installs parts.
• Performs miscellaneous welding, cutting and fabrication as needed.
