Journeyman Enterprise Database Administrator

The Opportunity:

CCI is seeking a Journeyman Enterprise Database Administrator to support data management and data science initiatives at USSTRATCOM. This role requires expertise in database management, data governance, and analytics to optimize data use across operational domains.

The work location is Omaha, Nebraska, contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive enterprise database management and administration supporting USSTRATCOM operations.
  • Design, implement, maintain, optimize, and secure databases across various environments (development, testing, production).
  • Ensure database availability, reliability, and scalability to meet organizational needs.
  • Manage database technologies, primarily Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Develop, deploy, and populate database schemas in a timely manner.
  • Perform and retain database backups.
  • Maintain industry standards for service, including preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
  • Work rotating shifts as required by mission needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, possibly including supervision or training of others.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Management, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of DBA experience in a government or military setting.
  • Within 6 months of start, obtain 8140 Certification: either 421 - Basic (GSEC / Sec+), or an applicable degree from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent training.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in SQL, database design, data governance, and data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with data science tools and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective teamwork abilities.

Pay Range:

The salary range is $65,000 - $136,500, influenced by factors like location, experience, skills, education, and certifications. We offer competitive benefits, including healthcare, wellness, retirement, family support, continuing education, and time off. Learn more here.
