Job summary

University of Southern California's Facilities Planning & Management seeks an Elevator Maintenance Mechanic to join its on‑campus team in Los Angeles. You will perform standard elevator procedures, monitor and maintain equipment, and respond to emergencies.

The role requires knowledge of city and state elevator codes, three years of maintenance and repair experience, and a valid California driver’s license; CCCM certification and familiarity with major manufacturers are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of experience in maintenance/repair of cable and hydraulic elevators.
• Familiarity with city and state building/elevator codes.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard elevator procedures and monitors elevators on campus.
• Responds to emergencies and assists trapped passengers.
• Prepares maintenance records and initiates work orders for repairs.
• Trains other journeymen on specific skills and tasks as needed.
