Job summary

Douglas County School District seeks an Electrician I - Apprentice to learn and perform electrical repairs, maintenance, and installation under supervision. The role includes reading blueprints, following NEC codes and safety protocols while progressing through a four-year apprenticeship.

You will complete required hours of training, pass the Journeyman exam, and rotate through on-site O&M facilities. This entry-level position offers full-time hours and benefits in Colorado.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in or attend an electrical apprenticeship program.
• Must complete 288 hours electrical training within 4 years of hire.
• Must complete 10 hours OSHA safety training within 4 years of hire.
• Must pass Journeyman exam after 8,000 hours of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Learn to repair, maintain and install electrical systems under direct supervision.
• Maintain and care for tools, equipment and vehicles.
• Work with supervision and participate in the four-year Apprenticeship Program.
• Respond to on-call requirements as scheduled (four weeks annually).
