Qualifications

  • High school graduate with specialized classes beyond high school.
  • 8,000 hours of on-the-job training required.
  • 288 hours of electrical training in grounding/bonding, NEC changes, wiring methods, theory/calculations as required by DORA.
  • 10 hours OSHA safety training required.
  • Must obtain Journeyman license within 90 days of hire.
  • License must be maintained through required continuing competency every three years.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and delegate work within the electrical maintenance trade.
  • Evaluate problems and situations relating to electrical equipment, make decisions accordingly.
  • Inspect, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment at various district facilities.
  • Estimate repairs and projects in terms of labor and materials.
  • Repair electrical motors, controllers and starters.

## **Job Posting Title:**Electrician II - Journeyman## Job Description:Responsible for the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical systems and equipment. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Essential Physical Requirements: • Regularly lifts five (5) to twenty (20) pounds • Frequent lifting of twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds • Occasional lifting over fifty (50) pounds • Frequent climbing stairs and ladders • Occasionally assist, position, balance, support students weighing more than 100 pounds. • Frequent sitting and standing • Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing. • Regularly required to move around work place, manipulating and handling, reaching and detecting objects and equipment, reaching for objects and equipment while simultaneously assisting balancing, positioning, lifting. Minimum Experience Requirement: • 3-5 years of job related experience. Minimum Education or Formal Training: • High school graduate plus specialized classes beyond high school. • Must have a minimum of 8,000 hours of on the job training to meet the requirements of the Department of Regulatory Agency. • Must have a minimum of 288 hours of electrical training in grounding/bonding, NEC code changes, wiring methods, theory/calculations as required by DORA.
