Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 who works under a Foreman or Superintendent and may oversee a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices. Responsibilities include installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems, conductors and equipment, with opportunities to learn other divisions.

Qualified candidates bring 5-7 years in commercial/industrial electrical construction, own tools, and the ability to work weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Owns tools required by policy and can use them to perform tasks.
• Demonstrates the Amteck Way in daily work, behavior, and decision making.
• Able to work project schedules including weekends and overtime.
• Willingness to learn job-related material on the job (OJT/classroom/virtual).
• Team-player mentality; listens, works with others, and works safely.
• Basic mechanical aptitude, basic math, and ability to read basic construction documents.
• Willingness to participate in field training (OJT, classroom-based, or virtual).

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, circuit and feeder conductors.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Troubleshoot lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
