Job summary

Amteck seeks a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman and potentially supervise a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices. The role includes installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems, with opportunities to learn low voltage, controls, and fire alarm systems in Amteck’s diverse divisions.

The candidate will perform conduit installation, device terminations, wiring calculations, blueprint reading, and field training while upholding Amteck’s safety culture and core values.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in electrical construction.
• Ability to use tools per company policy.
• Demonstrate the Amteck Way in daily work activities, behavior and decision making.
• Able to work weekends and overtime.
• Willingness to learn job-related material on the job.
• Team-player mentality; works safely with others.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read basic construction documents.
• Willing to participate in field training (OJT, classroom, or virtual).

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, brand circuit and feeder conductors.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
