Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a skilled Electrician to perform electrical work across high voltage, fire alarm, communications, lighting, power and control systems on campus.

The role requires a journeyman license, basic computer skills, completion of an approved apprentice program, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and work independently. Work schedule is Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., on-campus with union employment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician license required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Complete/Graduate from a Certified Apprentice Program.
• Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and/ or experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work in the electrical field covering high voltage, fire alarm, communication and security systems, lighting, power and control systems.
• Keeps detailed and accurate records.
• Interacts with customers, area coordinators, and project managers.
• Reports to electrical Subforeman and Foreman.
• Will need to lift 50 lbs. or more as jobs dictate and be able to work independently.
