Job summary

West Virginia University’s Health Sciences Center seeks an Electrician II to install and maintain electrical systems for laboratories, HVAC and specialized equipment, following blueprints and collaborating with supervisors, architects, engineers, and vendors.

The role requires journeyman-level training, a WV electrical license, and the ability to work independently, respond to emergencies, and perform preventative maintenance across campus facilities.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level training and license as required
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
• Experience with electrical controls, motors, and HV distribution preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical power for signal circuits and equipment (fire alarms, phones, PA systems, etc).
• Install and service equipment controls for HVAC, pumps, and compressors.
• Install, maintain, and repair conduit, wiring, and cable trays across campus facilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair motors, motor controls, and related electronic interfaces.
• Perform preventative and emergency maintenance of lighting and power systems.
