Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team on commercial and industrial construction projects across multiple sites.

You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems while upholding NEC and local codes, focusing on safety, reliability, and quality workmanship. As a leader on the field, you will read blueprints, mentor apprentices, and coordinate with other trades to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician Certification or State License preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Journeyman in commercial/industrial projects.
• Experience supervising apprentices is a plus.
• OSHA training (10 or 30) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to understand project specs.
• Install conduit, cable trays, wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and other electrical equipment as required by project designs.
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety compliance.
• Lead apprentices and provide on-the-job training and mentorship to help them grow in their skills.
• Maintain compliance with IBEW agreements, local labor standards, and company policies.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently, following OSHA and company safety protocols.
• Report and document work progress, issues, and resolutions to foreman and project managers.
• Participate in team meetings, safety briefings, and ongoing training to remain up to date on new tools, technologies, and safety standards.
