Job summary

Marshalltown seeks a skilled tradesperson to maintain and repair city electrical systems, HVAC, and related equipment across municipal buildings.Responsibilities include installation, preventive maintenance, and urgent repairs to ensure reliable city operations. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or five years’ experience is required, along with Iowa licenses for electrical or HVAC work.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or five years’ experience in maintenance, repair and operation of electrical systems and buildings.
Requires Journeyman/Master Electrician license or HVAC technician license (Iowa).
Commercial Driver’s License Class B with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain within timeframe.

Responsibilities

Operate, install, maintain, and repair complex electrical wiring and related systems for city facilities.
Maintain City-owned HVAC systems and related equipment; perform preventive maintenance and urgent repairs.
Work across city buildings and respond to maintenance needs as required.
