Job summary

Urbandale Community School District is seeking a full-time Engineer/Journeyman to perform skilled building and facility maintenance across district facilities. Responsibilities include maintaining HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, reading blueprints, and coordinating with vendors.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Iowa driver license, and preferably Journeyman/Engineering/Electrical licensure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Advise department supervisors of serious problems with building systems.
• Keep buildings safe; check alarms, locks and security equipment.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and snow removal as required.
