Position Overview:

The Electrician Journeyman will work under the supervision of a Master Electrician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial solar energy systems. This role requires strong electrical expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in electrical systems and motivated to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical components of solar energy systems under the supervision of a Master Electrician.
• Install wiring, conduit, inverters, circuit breakers, and other electrical equipment.
• Perform system inspections and ensure all safety protocols are followed.

Compliance & Safety:

• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures while working on solar installations.

Testing & Troubleshooting:

• Assist in electrical testing and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
• Identify and resolve issues related to electrical components and system performance.

Training & Documentation:

• Supervise and mentor apprentices in learning and development as directed by the Master Electrician.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and report issues as necessary.

Project Planning:

• Assist in the project planning phase- materials needed and inventory control/accountability.

Expense Management:

• Drive cost efficiencies with appropriate labor usage, materials usage and support company’s overall financial goals

Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Journeyman Electrician License required.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in electrical work, preferably in the solar industry.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
• Experience with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems preferred but not required.
• Ability to work at heights, on rooftops, and in various weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
