Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate competence in the following areas to perform their roles safely and effectively:

• Interpreting drawings, sketches, and plans to determine work procedures and tools needed for troubleshooting and repairs
• Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing electrical conduit; welding supports; installing cable and duct banks; making terminations
• Installing control and distribution apparatus and securing them in place
• Testing and starting up systems, ensuring electrical compatibility and safety
• Observing system functioning to identify hazards and determine adjustments or replacements
• Pulling wire through conduit and connecting wiring to fixtures and equipment
• Working with medium and low voltage systems
• Disassembling and repairing defective electrical equipment or systems
• Operating electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power tools

Responsibilities

• Passing pre-employment drug and criminal background screens
• Possessing a current State of Texas Journeyman Electrician License
• Handling heavy physical effort, lifting objects up to 25 pounds
• Performing physical activities such as kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing, and crawling
• Rigging and hoisting materials correctly
• Working at heights without fear
• Maintaining balance and working in extreme weather conditions
• Working long, irregular hours, 50-70 hours per week
• Maintaining punctual attendance and performing essential job functions safely and effectively in compliance with applicable standards
