Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate competence in the following areas to perform safely and effectively:

• Interpreting drawings, sketches, and plans to determine work procedures, tools, and equipment needed.
• Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing electrical conduit; welding supports; installing cable and duct banks; making terminations.
• Installing control and distribution apparatus and securing them in place.
• Testing and starting up systems, checking circuit continuity to ensure safety and compatibility.
• Monitoring the functioning of installed equipment to identify hazards and determine adjustments, relocations, or replacements.
• Pulling wire through conduit and connecting wiring to fixtures and equipment.
• Working with medium and low voltage systems.
• Disassembling and repairing defective electrical systems or equipment.
• Operating various hand tools, power tools, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tools.

Responsibilities

Applicants must:

• Pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screens.
• Possess a current Texas Journeyman Electrician License.
• Be able to exert heavy physical effort, handling objects up to 25 pounds.
• Be capable of kneeling, stooping, crouching, balancing, climbing, or crawling.
• Rig and hoist materials correctly.
• Work safely at heights without fear.
• Maintain balance and work long hours, often in extreme weather conditions.
• Work 50 to 70 hours per week, with regular, punctual attendance.
• Perform essential job functions safely and effectively, meeting productivity standards.
