Job Summary
The journeyman electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Essential Functions
- Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
- Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment.
- Connect cables and wire between machine and equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning electrical apparatus.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.
- Diagnose, repair, or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
- Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus to buildings.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment like oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
- Maintain knowledge of arithmetic, machines, and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and policies while promoting the company's safety culture.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 3 years of experience as an electrician.
- NCCER or Journeyman’s electrical license.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and around heavy traffic.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving between worksites.
- Operate job-related tools.
- Perform repetitive motions involving feet, legs, wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Lift objects up to 50 pounds, and with assistance, up to 150 pounds.
