Job Description

Summary/Object: The Journeyman Electrician position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining facilities in accordance with safety and maintenance systems to support business goals. We provide a company vehicle, fuel, maintenance, and a phone. Benefits include paid vacations, sick days, holidays, and insurance options.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and repair systems.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
• Work on residential and commercial new installs and remodeling jobs.
• Inspect systems for hazards, defects, and code compliance.
• Test electrical systems and circuits.
• Complete final connections, take photos, and document work orders accurately.
• Use a company phone, apps, email, and communicate effectively.

Essential Functions

• Perform diverse duties to install and maintain facilities.
• Provide emergency and scheduled repairs.
• Perform service and maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Read manuals and work orders, diagnose issues, and replace or repair parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance and use various tools and equipment.
• Report faults and maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Document work with photos and reports, check systems in and out, and submit vehicle condition reports.
• Maintain insurability, good attendance, and proper time records.
• Answer phones as needed.

Other Details

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work environment includes office, warehouse, outdoor, and shop settings with exposure to dust, odors, fumes, and noise. Physical demands include active movement, lifting over 75 pounds, and visual acuity.

Position is full-time with variable hours, on-call duty, and travel expected with company vehicle and fuel card. Requires 2+ years of electrical journeyman experience, high school diploma or GED, and relevant skills in electrical or related trades. Must pass drug and background checks and furnish tools.
