Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nebraska journeyman electrical license required.
• Two years of experience in electrical trades preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• ICC/ICBO or IAEI electrical inspection certification within 6 months of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on new and improved construction projects to enforce electrical and related codes.
• Interpret and enforce the National Electrical Code during plan review and field inspections.
• Interpret the International Residential Code for residential applications.
• Inspect commercial building projects to enforce International Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Energy codes.
• Review plans and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Provide guidance to contractors and the public on permitting procedures and policy.
