Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Diesel Service Technician, Journeyman to join our dynamic team. This role performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include diagnostics and mechanical repairs, strict safety adherence, parts communication, and thorough documentation using Paccar Solutions/Decisiv. A CDL is required or obtainable during employment; ongoing online training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• A college degree or trade school certificate is preferred but not required.
• Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Motor Vehicle Record adheres to company MVR guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components; tests after repair to ensure quality.
• Follow safety rules and company policies at all times.
• Communicate with Service Foreman about unavailable parts.
• Download and save to Paccar Solutions/Decisiv all pictures, engine files, and diagnostic tests used.
• Record in detail the troubleshooting steps and results of repairs.
• Save warrantable parts; label, box, and return to correct location with repair order details.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and return tools after use.
• Inform the next shift about any special instructions or concerns found during repair.
• Maintain efficiency and productivity goals set by Service Manager.
• Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
