Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Diesel Service Technician, Journeyman to join our team in Virginia. This role performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, adhering to safety rules, communicating with the Service Foreman about parts, and documenting repair steps with diagnostics data. A CDL is required or must be obtained during employment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• Trade school certificate or degree preferred.
• Experience in related field is a plus.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Motor Vehicle Record must meet MVR Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and test to ensure repairs are proper.
• Follow safety rules and company policies at all times.
• Communicate with Service Foreman about unavailable parts.
• Download and save all diagnostic files and engine data in Paccar Solutions/Decisiv.
• Document detailed troubleshooting steps and repair results.
• Label and return warrantable parts with RO number, SN, customer name and date.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and tool readiness.
• Inform next shift of any special instructions or concerns.
• Maintain efficiency and productivity per Service Manager targets.
• Maintain Peterbilt online training at 95%.
• Obtain and retain Class A CDL during employment.
• Perform other duties and repairs as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Testing when completed to ensure repairs are completed properly.
• Follow safety rules and company policies always.
• Communicate to Service Foreman regarding parts that are not available for repairs.
• Download and save to Paccar Solutions/Decisiv: all pictures, engine files (before and after repair), and diagnostic test used to perform repair.
• Record in detail, the description of all trouble shooting steps and results of repairs made and any other information about the repair.
• Save all warrantable parts. Tag, wash, box and turn in to correct location. Labels the box with repair order number, S/N, customer name and date.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Clean and return tools used.
• Advise the following shift's technicians with any special instructions or concerns you found when repairing truck.
• Maintain efficiency and productivity goals set forth by Service Manager.
• Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
• Obtain class A or B CDL and retain during employment.
• Perform other duties and repairs as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Should possess a High School diploma.
• A college degree or a certificate or degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
• Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
• Must Possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Motor Vehicle Record adheres to TLG MVR Guidelines.
