Job summary

Seneca Resources is seeking an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our Maintenance Services team in Merrifield, VA. The role involves construction, alteration, installation, and repairs of facilities and furnishings, with project management responsibility for multiple maintenance projects.

You will construct cabinets, supervise external contractors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has extensive carpentry experience, code knowledge, blueprint-reading skills,

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant carpentry and maintenance experience.
• Thorough knowledge of local, state, and national building codes.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical documentation, and construction plans.
• Ability to lead projects, coordinate with contractors, and ensure timely completion.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and materials used in commercial carpentry.
• Effective communication skills and team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform building maintenance, including construction, alteration, installation, and repairs of facilities and furnishings.
• Construct custom cabinets and shelves, perform preventive maintenance, and oversee external contractors.
• Inspect building systems, diagnose structural issues, and provide technical guidance to staff across trades.
