Job summary

University of Washington's Facilities Maintenance & Construction team seeks a skilled Carpenter to perform journey-level carpentry in campus facilities. Responsibilities include building, repairing, and remodeling, with work on casework, doors, windows, and floors, following safety and university standards.

Position is full-time, Mon–Fri, 6:55am–3:25pm, on-site at UW Southwest Zone. Requires apprenticeship or four years' carpentry experience and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a carpenter or full journey status in a union, or four years' related work experience.
• Vocational training may substitute for work experience.
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
• Show ability to take direction, work well with others and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carpentry construction & repairs.
• Construct projects from blueprints or sketches.
• Develop cost estimates for installations and repairs.
• Install, adjust, repair and replace building components such as casework, shelving, door hardware and ceilings.
• Coordinate with leads on project changes and progress.
