Job summary

UW Facilities Maintenance & Construction in Seattle is looking for a temporary Carpenter to support campus infrastructure through carpentry, repair and remodeling work including framing, doors, windows, casework and flooring. This one-year assignment reports to the supervisor and lead and runs Monday through Friday, 6:55am–3:25pm.

Responsibilities include constructing from blueprints, developing cost estimates, operating hand and power tools, coordinating with trades and campus partners, and

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a carpenter or full journey status as a carpenter.
• Experience with construction, repair and remodeling including doors, casework and flooring.
• Ability to read blueprints and sketches; basic estimating.

Responsibilities

• Construct projects from blueprints or sketches.
• Develop cost estimates for installations and repairs.
• Operate hand and power tools and coordinate with other trades.
• Maintain safety and quality in all work.
