Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Journeyman boiler technician with 3+ years of field experience. Candidates will read plans, assemble boiler components, weld and bolt sections, and install valves and gauges. Strong emphasis on safety and ability to work at heights is required.

Expect rigorous on-site work in industrial settings with standard benefits and a schedule supporting mobility and teamwork on large boiler projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and drawings.
• Proficient in basic shop mathematics and measurements.
• Plan work and select proper tools for tasks.
• Must be able to work safely at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark reference points on foundations using levels and geometry.
• Operate rigging and signal crane operator for lifting components.
• Align structures and boiler components using plumb bobs, levels and wedges.
• Trim edges, weld, bolt, and assemble boiler frame sections.
• Position drums and headers into supports and weld as required.
• Install manways, valves, gauges, and water connections in boilers.
• Conduct testing for leakage and perform field repairs as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning with standard tools.
