Guidehouse is seeking a Journeyman Avionics Engineer (Computer Systems and Software Airworthiness) in Beavercreek, OH. The role focuses on designing, developing and testing avionics computer systems to meet airworthiness and safety standards.

You will work across requirements, integration, and verification activities in a DoD ACAT I environment. Ideal candidates hold a TS/SCI eligibility, ABET‑accredited engineering degree, and 10+ years of DoD aviation experience, including 5 years in avionics

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Ten+ years of DoD experience including five years avionics and two years in a recognized ACAT I program.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills in a multi‑level environment.

Responsibilities

• Apply DoD 5000-series guidance and AFMC/AFLCMC policies to acquisition engineering activities.
• Design, develop, integrate and test Computer Systems & Software for airworthiness.
• Conduct system requirements translation and trade studies across weapon platforms.
• Support engineering reviews, TIMs, and program reviews with technical input.

Journeyman Avionics Engineer (Computer Systems and Software Airworthiness) page is loaded## Journeyman Avionics Engineer (Computer Systems and Software Airworthiness)locations: US - OH, Beavercreektime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 30 Days Agojob requisition id: 42981**Job Family:**Systems Engineering**Travel Required:**Up to 25%**Clearance Required:**Ability to Obtain Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI)**What You Will Do:*** Apply DoDD 5000-series guidance and AFMC/AFLCMC engineering policies to acquisition engineering activities.* Design, develop, integrate and test Computer Systems & Software, to ensure adequate performance, safety, integrity, and airworthiness.* Assess hardware, software, and systems qualification to meet airworthiness criteria, especially criteria in MIL-HBK-516, section 15.* Support development and analysis of system and subsystem requirements, translating them into design criteria and system specifications.* Conduct technical planning, system integration analyses, trade studies, and risk assessments across weapon system platforms.* Assist in developing system performance requirements, integration objectives, and estimates for design, development, and sustainment.* Review engineering proposals, designs, specifications, and change packages; provide recommendations to optimize cost, schedule, and performance.* Support engineering reviews, design reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), working groups, and program reviews, providing technical input, documentation, and reporting.* Support systems and avionics engineering across requirements, design, integration, development, modification, test, airworthiness, production, sustainment, deployment, operations, and divestiture.* Coordinate with acquisition organizations, higher headquarters, DoW entities, labs, industry, and universities; support documentation and emerging technology assessments.* Apply systems engineering processes for airworthiness, requirements, software releases, metrics and traceability, allocations, program protection, technical reviews, configuration audits, design analysis, interface integration, and test verification/validation.* Support development, deployment, and sustainment of technical processes ensuring safe operation and maintenance of systems.**What You Will Need:*** Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD \"TOP SECRET with SCI eligibility\" security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their TOP SECRET clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an TOP SECRET with SCI eligibility clearance are preferred.* ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field* Minimum TEN (10) or more years of relevant DoD experience, including FIVE (5) years of relevant DoD avionics experience and TWO (2) years in a special access DoD acquisition program as a sub-system lead engineer within a recognized ACAT I program.**What Would Be Nice To Have:*** Technical experience with software and computer system architectures; software and systems integration processes; fault tolerance, redundancy management, and high integrity design techniques; computer system hardware and software criticality identification; Safety Critical Function (SCF) thread analysis; verification techniques for software, hardware and system integration, developing/maintaining System Integration Laboratory (SIL) facilities with high fidelity test capabilities to Verification and Validation (V&V) of software and hardware; system integration verification coverage; Operational Flight Program (OFP) build, load, and flight release process; and the functional compatibility of all software and hardware.* Advanced degree (Highly Desirable) in Engineering or related field* Demonstrated management and leadership skills in a collaborative environment* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively within all organizational levels, including senior DoD leadershipThe annual salary range for this position is $118,000.00-$196,000.00.
