Job summary

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a full-time resident heavy equipment Shop Technician at the Orland Park, IL branch. This union position reports to Local 701 and offers growth through manufacturer training and competitive wages.

You will inspect, repair, and install optional accessories while upholding Alta's guiding principles and safety standards. The role requires four years of heavy equipment repair experience, Volvo Penta knowledge, and the ability to work after hours.

Qualifications

• Four years of heavy equipment or OTR repair experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years of power systems repair experience required.
• Volvo Penta engine experience highly preferred.
• Military MOS/CM experience: 63B, 63H, 63S, 63W, 63Y, 91B, 91H, 91L, 91M.
• Strong knowledge of powertrain and generation systems.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work after hours as needed.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license to drive company vehicle.
