Job summary

Missouri River Energy Services in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a dedicated Electric Distribution Operator to operate and maintain municipal electric distribution systems under contract to MRES, ensuring safety and reliability. You will perform inspections, maintenance, meter work support, and assist with planning distribution improvements, while following safety policies and participating in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Operates the operation, construction, reconstruction, maintenance and repair of the electrical distribution systems and associated equipment.
• Maintains the inventory, time and material records for all work performed.
• Operates the electric distribution vehicles and related equipment.
• Performs the operation and maintenance of the electric generating plant systems and associated equipment.
• Assists with the installation, maintenance, testing and calibration of all metering equipment, substation systems and controls in accordance with established operating and maintenance procedures.
• Performs the customer meter installations and disconnects as directed.
• Performs the installation and maintenance of the public outdoor lighting systems.
• Performs the inspection, monitoring and documentation of the operations, maintenance and testing of distribution, generation and associated equipment and facilities as directed.
• Advises the Electric Distribution Superintendent in the planning of distribution system modifications, improvements or extensions as directed.
• Serves On-Call and responds to call-outs of reported electrical system or service problems.
• Performs all work in accordance with all applicable safety policies, programs, procedures, and reporting systems to assure a safe working environment for all personnel and the general public.
• Performs general maintenance of the electric distribution vehicles, equipment and storage areas.
• Represents the Agency at training seminars and conferences as assigned.
• Keeps abreast of relevant profession, industry and inter utility developments.
• Assists in developing departmental budget and capital improvement requirements.

Job description

Operates and maintains municipal electric utility distribution systems under contract to MRES in a safe and efficient manner by performing the following duties.
