Job summary

YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking a Wellness Advisor to ensure member safety in strength and cardio areas and to support members in achieving their wellness goals through YMCA membership. You will conduct one-on-one wellness appointments, connect members to the right wellness programs, and provide ongoing follow-up to sustain activity.

The role requires empathy, strong communication, and solid exercise science knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior (1-2 years) strength/conditioning experience is required (3+ years preferred).
• Must have skills in relationship building, being empathic, and communication in order to perform successfully in this role.
• Must have above average knowledge of exercise science and wellness principles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of YMCA members utilizing the strength and cardiovascular areas.
• Conduct a series of retention appointments for new members, utilizing designated software to engage and support ongoing physical activity.
• Assist members in achieving wellness goals through YMCA membership and ongoing follow-up.
• Support members throughout the wellness onboarding process by working one-on-one during wellness appointments and connecting them to appropriate wellness programs.
