Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a Joint Use / Telecommunications Designer to join our Harrisonburg, VA team. The role involves monitoring contractor work for quality and contract compliance on roadway and utility projects, coordinating with property owners and local agencies, and preparing joint use design projects and cost estimates.

Qualifications include an HS diploma, knowledge of design software (ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation) and NESC/RUS codes, plus ability to work in office and field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of distribution design and NESC/RUS codes preferred.
• Experience with cable TV, telecom operations and utility coordination preferred.
• Familiarity with Joint Use design software and assembly codes (ArcFM, Partner, Mapwise, PoleForeman, Ike Office, etc.).
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Data conversion experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred.
• Ability to communicate technical information, research, interpret and summarize data.
• Prioritization of multiple projects and cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Process attachment permits for Joint Use partners (cable TV, telecom, local governments).
• Liaise between Company and Joint Use partners on permits, inspections, rebuilds, NESC/RUS interpretations.
• Prepare joint use pole construction/design projects and cost estimates, notifications, CATV permits.
• Assure proper transactions of payments and billing.
• Prepare and maintain files of agreements, permits, surveys, inspections, and rebuilds.
• Perform other duties as requested (ex. Non-Joint Use Design work).
• Ability to work both in an office environment and in the field.
