Job summary

The Joiner Machine Operator for Rheem Manufacturing's Water Heater Division in Montgomery, AL will operate a forming press to join components to the skirt, load/unload parts, and perform changeovers. You will use measurement tools and interpret blueprints, ensuring quality and safety in a high-noise environment.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic mechanical aptitude, and experience reading manufacturing drawings.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required.
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Ability to use measurement instruments (ruler, scale, tape) and interpret blueprints/manufacturing drawings.
Frequent lifting of weights up to 60 lbs and continuous lifting in position.
Must follow written or verbal instructions and observe safety rules.

Responsibilities

Operate forming press to join arrestor plate and damper pan to the skirt.
Use measuring devices and record fractional and decimal equivalents.
Discern out of tolerance conditions using fractional/decimal measurements.
Manually load parts and unload assembled chambers.
Operate portable tilter to move bins of parts into position.
Perform changeovers and minor equipment adjustments.
Assist maintenance with minor repairs and participate in routine preventive maintenance.
Maintain quality standards established for the process.
Work from written or verbal instructions and observe all safety requirements.
