Job summary

Carole Fabrics, part of the Hunter Douglas family, is seeking a skilled Seamstress to join our Augusta, GA production team. This role focuses on face fabric and lining for drapery panels, ensuring patterns match when joining seams and operating sewing machines in a fast-paced environment.

You will join fabric and lining, use serger and straight stitch machines, maintain safety and quality, handle fabrics, and work with repetitive tasks while upholding accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Sewing experience with industrial machines preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• General knowledge of fabrics and textures.
• Experience using hand tools and sewing equipment.
• Must pass color vision test and be accurate with numbers and names.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift items repeatedly.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Join fabric and lining materials according to production requirements.
• Operate serger and straight stitch sewing machines efficiently and safely.
• Sew side hems using the Sewing Automation 2300+ machine.
• Maintain consistent quality and productivity in a production environment.
• Move and handle fabric, including lifting items over 30 pounds when required.
• Use hand tools and sewing equipment safely throughout the shift.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Perform repetitive sewing and material-handling tasks following safety procedures.

Position Overview

• Perform repetitive sewing and material-handling tasks while following workplace safety procedures.

Who you are

• High school graduate
• Sewing experience; experience with industrial sewing machines
• Ability to use and read a tape measure
• General knowledge of fabrics
• Ability to use hand tools
• Successfully pass color blind test
• Accuracy with names, numbers and spelling
• Capable of standing for extended periods of time
• Capable of lifting on a continuous basis
• Strong attention to details
• Follow written and verbal instructions
