John Deere in Horicon, Wisconsin is seeking a Production Welder to join our production team. You will weld parts and sub-assemblies, adjust settings, and follow work instructions to ensure safety, quality and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum qualifications include being at least 18, a welding certification or equivalent (or 6 months welding experience) or willingness to train, and the ability to work any shift with possible overtime. Team collaboration and site safety are emphasized.

• High School Diploma or G.E.D., NCRC, or 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Weld certification (or equivalent) OR 6 months welding experience OR willingness to complete internal weld training.

Responsibilities

• Weld parts and sub-assemblies to specification using welding processes.
• Adjust voltage, heat, pressure, and speed to maintain quality.
• Read and follow work instructions and procedures.
• Record data and maintain quality/maintenance records.
• Check results for conformance and correct as needed.
• Operate forklifts and industrial trucks to move materials.
• Use CNC/robotic welding equipment, grinders, hoists and fixtures.
• Lubricate, inspect, and clean equipment and tooling.
• Assist and support team members.
• Keep the work area clean and perform other duties.

Primary Location: United States (US)- Wisconsin - Horicon

As a Production Welderwith John Deere in Horicon, WI, you will:

Perform weld operations in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:

• Weld parts and sub-assemblies to specification using various welding processes.
• Adjust voltage, heat, pressure, and speed to maintain quality.
• Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures.
• Utilize manufacturing tools to record data and keep records for quality and maintenance.
• Check results for conformance to specifications and make necessary corrections.
• Operate power driven equipment such as forklifts and industrial trucks to move material, parts, and equipment.
• Use various types of tools and equipment to perform work - including but not limited to CNC / robotic welding equipment, safety equipment, manual arc welders, grinders, hoists, fixtures, and applicable hand and power tools.
• Lubricate, check, and clean work equipment and tooling.
• Assist and support other team members.
• Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have at least one of the following:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
• Must have a weld certification (or equivalent)ORat least 6 months experience of welding in a manufacturing environment OR ability and willingness to successfully complete internal weld training program upon hire.
• Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift – with or without reasonable accommodation; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing of repetitive actions.
• Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime (including weekends).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Weld certification (or equivalent) or at least 6 months experience welding in a manufacturing environment.
