Job Summary

Receives, stores, and distributes material and products within a warehouse by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and direct team efforts in a warehouse environment.
• Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or convey orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Mark materials with identifying information such as labels.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Arrange products in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
• Lead a group of 10+ employees in the warehouse operation and inform the department supervisor of any issues requiring immediate attention.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to present information orally.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions; handle problems with a few variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is helpful.

Other Skills: Bilingual skills are highly desirable.

Physical Demands

Requires standing, walking, using hands to handle items, reaching, climbing, balancing, and speaking or hearing. Frequently lifts or moves up to 10lb, often up to 25lb, and occasionally up to 50lb. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Moderate noise level; typical warehouse conditions; duty performed in a commercial warehouse setting.
