Job Summary
Receives, stores, and distributes material and products within the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct a team of 10 or more employees in warehouse operations.
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to move, gather, or distribute.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or convey orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Mark materials with identifying information such as labels.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arrange product in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is helpful.
Other Skills & Abilities
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work environment characteristics: moderate noise level.
