Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Lexington is seeking a certified technician for the Sterile Processing Department. Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or other sterile processing certification required. Certification in Sterile Processing Management strongly encouraged within three years of hire.
Exposure to hazards associated with bodily fluids and tissue, risk of bloodborne diseases, chemical agents used in cleaning, hazards of steam and heat, loud stressful environment due to equipment and high demands, varying and unpredictable situations, many interruptions, occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries, exposure to sharp instruments that may cause cuts or abrasions, must wear PPE.
Works under the direction of the Instrument Processing Supervisor and assists with the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD). Serves as a departmental resource for SPD and other departments and models excellent customer service. Maintains frequent and ongoing communication with the Sterile Processing Supervisor.
