Purpose & Impact
Senior Systems Engineer – Support mission‑critical projects in the Cyber, Security, & Intel domain. Contribute to prototype development, testing, demonstration, integration, deployment, and sustainment of critical IT capabilities for the Department of Defense.
Work Schedule & Environment
8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Work in a secure SCIF daily and occasionally in a datacenter.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assess and recommend solutions based on system requirements.
- Contribute to system design, development, and engineering tasks.
- Manage and track workload during Agile sprints using JIRA and Confluence.
- Produce system architecture design documentation and support integration planning.
- Deploy and manage enterprise‑level virtual environments (VMware ESXi, Nutanix AHV).
- Design and implement system configurations for scalable, resilient services in a global deployment.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Deliver and integrate new technical solutions, providing advice to government customers.
- Perform system and software updates to enhance performance.
- Implement solutions across diverse technologies and maintain government security standards.
- Liaise with vendors and IT personnel for problem resolution.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS (2022‑2025).
- PKI management, including Certificate Authorities and certificate issuance.
- Infoblox DNS/DHCP configuration.
- Deployment and configuration of Nutanix AHV, AOS, Prism and VMware ESXi, vCenter, VCP 7.x/8.x.
- Administration of Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, and Intersight.
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux server administration.
- Experience in a DoD classified environment and with DoD security requirements.
- Deployment of Splunk Enterprise and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
- Installing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server 2022 or newer.
- Backup systems experience (e.g., Acronis).
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies, STIGs, and RMF processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Strong communication, organization, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Travel up to 20% possible.
Required Certifications
- DoD 8570.01‑M IAT‑II baseline certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or Systems Engineering.
- Agile Scrum methodologies, JIRA, Confluence.
- VMware certification (VCP 7.x/8.x).
- Infoblox, Commvault 11.x, RedHat Satellite, Ansible.
- Trellix Endpoint Security, ePO, Agent Handlers, RSA SecurID.
- ACAS (Tenable Security Center, Nessus).
- ITILv4, PostgreSQL.
- Microsoft Exchange 2016 or newer, Rubrik.
Security Clearance
Active TopSecret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field or equivalent, with at least 8 years of systems engineering, architecture design, and integration experience.
Compensation
$180,000 – $230,000 (annual).
