Job summary

rms Surgical, part of the Cretex Medical family, seeks a Mill Lead to coordinate and lead the Milling team in a high-precision manufacturing environment in Minnesota. You will manage shift activities, ensuring machines run smoothly and schedules are met, while mentoring operators and maintaining 5S discipline.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on CNC Mills experience, and the ability to train staff, optimize workflows, and uphold safety and quality standards in a tight-tolerance setting.

Qualifications

• 5 years related operations experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing machinery, equipment and processes.
• Experience managing internal relationships and team facilitation.
• Problem solving and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to take direction from the area manager.
• Ability to train and develop employees.
• Able to work in a manufacturing environment around chemicals, fumes, dust and odors.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work 2nd shift - Monday-Thursday, 4:00 pm - 2:00 am
• Execute to the production schedule
• Assign employees to run machines and jobs, ensuring that machines are running efficiently and effectively
• Ensure the area has materials and supplies to meet prodution needs
• Provide employees on the job training and mentoring
• Ensure employees are following work instructions and processes
• Communicate production issues, schedules and priorities within and between teams
• Provide employees with goals, performance initiatives, areas of accountability, conducting corrective action when needed
• Read and comply with work instructions, set up sheets and checklists
• Maintain an organized (5s) work area
• Participate and lead team to participate in Operational Excellence program (lean manufacturing)
• Understand and comply with Cretex professional competencies, company policies and employee manual
• Adhere to safety policies, support the company quality systems and processes
• Complete all other work as assigned

Mill Lead Position Summary

The Cell Leader will coordinate, monitor, and lead the activities of the Milling machining team in support of assigned goals and objectives in a manufacturing environment, working with a variety of production machinery and equipment.

Shift: 2nd - Monday-Thursday, 4:00 pm - 2:00 am

• Programming experience with CNC Mills
• Experience with set-up on CNC Mills
• Experience in troubleshooting of CNC Mills
• Preferred business/technical degree
