Job summary

Damar Services, LLC in Indianapolis seeks a Resource Specialist for our Children’s Residential location at 6067 Decatur Blvd to help keep residents safe and support direct care staff.

The role offers a Day Shift (8:00 AM - 8:30 PM, rotating weekends) with starting pay of $16.50/hour plus experience recognition, plus comprehensive benefits and training in a mission-driven, not-for-profit setting.

Qualifications

• Six months of full-time experience with behavioral challenges or DD/ID population.
• Provide formal proof of education required for the position.
• Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record as per insurance.
• No felonies or substantiated neglect charges.
• Pre-employment physical completed.
• Background screening cleared.

• Effectively responds to and manages crisis situations for all Damar programs - taking the leadership role in de-escalation and/or intervention when needed

• Initiates special precautions for clients that exhibit and meet high risk behavior criteria

• Takes appropriate action regarding any events that affect the mental and physical well-being of the residents, including but not limited to, providing client and staff support, informal training and crisis management

• Understands behavior support plans for high acuity clients

What you need to be considered:

• Must have six months of full-time experience working with behavioral challenges and/or individuals identifying with the DD/ID population
• Be able to provide formal proof of education required for the position
• Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
• Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
• Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
• Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
