Job summary

Housing Works in New York City is seeking a Job Developer who will build and maintain relationships with NYC employers in maintenance/infrastructure and culinary food service, and create innovative internship and career pathways for program participants.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will conduct individual vocational counseling, lead employer education presentations, coordinate outreach and partnerships, and ensure accurate data entry and timely program reports to meet contract

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in social services or related field
• Minimum 1 year experience in business development or workforce
• Experience placing individuals with legal backgrounds
• Strong written documentation and communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously
• Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOC clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop internship and career pathways for program participants
• Create and maintain career maps for clients in designated sectors
• Participate in community outreach and networking
• Use Labor Market Index to identify NYC employers for outreach
• Lead the business development component of the program and present in team meetings
• Facilitate work readiness groups and provide vocational counseling
• Match clients with employers and internship partners
• Maintain accurate data entry and reporting in the account management system
• Document client services thoroughly in case records
• Ensure contract deliverables are met and reports submitted
