Job summary

Goodwill of the Heartland is hiring a Job Coach to support participants with barriers to independence, helping them succeed in community jobs. You will train, supervise, and model work procedures while adapting approaches to meet individual needs and goals.

Responsibilities include arranging transportation when needed, assisting with scheduling, and ensuring safety and compliance through background checks. Evening, weekend, and travel to sites are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months of experience in a related field is required (e.g., customer service, custodial, sales, clerical, training, etc.). An AA degree can be substituted for the required experience.
• Supervisory/training experience preferred.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Background checks: criminal, motor vehicle record, and dependent adult and child abuse.
• Schedule includes evenings and weekends; travel between job sites is required.

Participants are placed in community jobs through Goodwill programs, and this position aids in teaching basic work habits and attitudes, while helping our participants develop their goals and implement assigned tasks. Job Coaches adapt training strategies to fit the changing work environment and participant needs day-to-day.
