Job summary

Chrysalis in Utah is seeking an Employment Coach to provide customized employment services for at-risk adults and juveniles with intellectual disabilities. Under supervision, you will guide discovery, job search planning, job development, negotiation and post-employment support, while supervising participants on the job and coordinating with employers.

The role requires the ability to work in stress-filled environments, strong English communication, and adherence to Chrysalis policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Customized Employment Specialist certification preferred.

• Punctuality and regular attendance at the worksite are required, with oversight of individuals and schedules.
• Follows coaching techniques promoting independence in the workplace.

• Support the individual's choices through Discovery and implement PCSP and goals.
• Complete administrative tasks and documentation within established time frames.

• Support problem-solving by coaching the employer and individual and renegotiate with the employer as needed.
• Perform other related duties or projects as assigned by supervisor.

Hourly Wage: $16.00-$17.75

Chrysalis is a company that provides a variety of support services for at-risk adults and/or juveniles with intellectual disabilities. These individuals may also have a variety of medical issues. This position requires the ability to work in stress‑filled and safety‑sensitive environments, make crucial decisions in regards to the care and treatment of at-risk individuals, and possess the ability to communicate those decisions effectively to the individual's team. Under general supervision of the Supportive Employment Specialist, the Employment Coach will provide specialized employment services to individuals of Chrysalis through discovery, job search planning, job development, negotiation and post‑employment support. The Employment Coach will be responsible for supervising individuals in their jobs, establishing relationships with employers and assisting/train the individuals on required job duties as well as functioning independently within the constraints of Chrysalis' policies and procedures to assure individuals receive the highest quality of customized services possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with the individual's team and employer
• Punctuality and regular/consistent attendance at the worksite are required and the employee must be able to ensure proper oversight of individuals and their worksite schedules and facilitate successful employment outcomes
• Follows and applies coaching techniques that promote individual independence in the workplace
• Build professional relationships with employers
• Teach individuals daily living skills as it relates to the job
• Create opportunities for people to increase quality of life in their work environment
• Support the individual's choices through Discovery and implement Person‑Centered Plans (PCSP) and goals
• Complete necessary administrative tasks and documentation within established time frames
• Complete and document all that is required by Chrysalis and the State such as employment records and performance
• Supports problem‑solving processes by coaching the employer and individual while assessing performance. Renegotiate as needed with an employer
• Perform other related duties or projects as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Minimum be at least 21 years old
• Pass a criminal background check
• Be eligible to drive according to Chrysalis policy
• Should possess the ability to speak, read and write effectively in English

Experience or Education

• High school Diploma or GED

Training and Certifications

• Certified Customized Employment Specialist through the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE)
• Certified as an Employment Specialist
• Complete annual CPR, First Aid, OSHA and SOAR training
• Complete annual Human Rights, Abuse Neglect, Maltreatment and Exploitation Training
• Obtain and maintain Food Handler's Permit
• Complete T.B. test
• Complete any other required training assigned by Chrysalis
