Job summary

Achievement House in California is seeking a Braided Day Program Instructor to support adults with developmental disabilities in building workplace skills and participating in community activities. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with a focus on respectful, supportive engagement and safe, compliant service delivery.

You will provide direct vocational training, assist with transportation, maintain documentation, and advocate for individuals’ needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and ongoing proof of state-required auto insurance.
  • Ability to drive as part of job duties.
  • Basic computer and technology skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete First Aid and CPR training.
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct vocational support and training to adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Assist individuals as they engage in program-based work, community activities, and classes.
  • Ensure all services are delivered in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Advocate for the rights, needs, and well-being of individuals served.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to program and client management.
  • Promptly report any suspected incidents of abuse, neglect, or sexual assault.
  • Conduct safety meetings and drills, maintaining accurate records as required.
  • Complete and submit all required documentation by established deadlines.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitized environment in accordance with Department of Health standards.
  • Monitor contract requirements to ensure quality workmanship and meet customer expectations.
  • Assist individuals with coordinating transportation to and from job sites.
  • Foster a courteous, positive, and professional atmosphere while interacting with individuals and the community.

Compensation

$23 per hour plus a $250 hiring bonus. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
